Using ButterType
ButterType is free to use for personal entertainment or educational purposes — practicing your typing, or using it with a class. There's no account and no payment required to use it, and you're welcome to share the link with others.
Copying and reuse
Outside of visiting and using the site directly for those purposes, ButterType — including its code, design, essays, and vocabulary lists — may not be copied, redistributed, republished, or reused, in original or modified form, without permission. This applies whether or not the reuse is commercial.
Acceptable use
ButterType has no accounts and nothing to upload, so there isn't much to misuse — but please don't try to disrupt the site, scrape it in bulk, or otherwise use it in a way that places undue load on it or interferes with other people's ability to use it normally.
Advertising
The site displays a small number of advertisements, provided by a third-party advertising service, to help support the cost of running it. Those ads are the only reason any data leaves your browser while using this site — everything else about how ButterType works is unchanged. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

ButterType isn't responsible for the content or practices of any external site it links to. Visiting one is at your own discretion.
No warranty
ButterType is provided as-is, with no guarantee it's free of bugs, error-free, or that it will always be available — a small, actively maintained project rather than a large commercial product. Use of the site is at your own risk. If something breaks, feel free to flag it, but there's no obligation on either side beyond that.
